Whistlestop Arts is driven by the creative vision and expertise of Annalees Lim and Luna Russell. Annalees brings a wealth of experience as a freelance artist, specialising in community arts with a strong focus on illustration and accessibility. Her passion for inclusive creative projects, particularly within the disability arts sector, is at the heart of her work. Luna is a dedicated maker and arts facilitator, whose commitment to using the arts to positively impact lives has shaped her approach as an Arts Project Manager. Together, they combine their skills to foster creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement through the arts.
Key Objectives
The project aimed to create an engaging and accessible audio adventure, "The Horsham District Mystery Trail," designed to appeal to people of all ages and abilities. The objective was to utilise a range of voiceover artists to bring the characters within the adventure to life, ensuring a rich and immersive experience for all participants. Ultimately, the goal was to offer a fun and engaging platform that would foster community involvement through an imaginative, audio-driven journey.
Our Solution
Onhold Studio provided the phone platform needed to host the audio adventure, "The Horsham District Mystery Trail," across eight separate non-geographic phone numbers. This setup ensured easy access for participants, allowing them to dial in from every checkpoint of the adventure and enjoy the immersive experience. We worked closely with a talented team of voiceover artists to bring the adventure's characters to life, including Guy as the Botanist, Joan the Oracle, and Eddie the Woodland Gatekeeper.
Each character was crafted with distinct vocal performances, adding depth and vibrancy to the story. The recording sessions gave our voice artists the chance to explore new vocal ranges, fully embodying their roles and enhancing the overall quality of the production. The final result was a captivating and inclusive audio experience that perfectly captured the essence of the adventure.
Results
Once the project received Annalees' approval, "The Horsham District Mystery Trail" was successfully launched, providing the community with an entertaining and inclusive experience. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants appreciating both the creativity of the storyline and the accessibility of the format. The project’s success lay in its ability to engage people of all ages and abilities, whilst demonstrating the power of audio storytelling to bring a community together.
